Claudia Ann Cox

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Boyd Cox; her sons, Mike Cox and Robin Cox; and her grandson, Billy Cox.

She is survived by her children: Herman Cox (Laura) of Inverness, Florida; Lynda Kent of Pike Road, Alabama; Bo Cox (Leigh) of Dadeville, Alabama; and Susie Deal (Greg) of Snowdoun, Alabama; and her daughter-in-law, Terri Cox of Deatsville, Alabama. She is also survived by her brothers, Billy Ray Houlton and Rusty Crumpton, and a very dear friend whom the family greatly appreciates, Annie Rogers.

Affectionately known as “Nanny,” she was a loving grandmother to 20 grandchildren: George Cox, Amy Byrd, Chris Cox, Billy Cox, Shannon Hill, Taylor O’Reilly, Bo Cox, Mandy Ellis, Chad Jones, Michael Cox, Jessica Thompson, Rebecca Stanfield, Caroline Ethridge, Grace Hall, Katelyn Autrey, Susan Brown, Tyler Cox, Patrick Cox, Suzanne Allen, and Trent Deal.

She was also a proud great-grandmother to 40 and great-great-grandmother to 4. She was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.

The family will receive friends for visitation on April 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Leak Memory Chapel, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery.

Her grandsons, George Cox, Chad Jones, Michael Cox, Tyler Cox, Trent Deal, and Patrick Cox, will serve as pallbearers and Greg Deal, her son-in-law, is a honorary pallbearer.
