

Daphne Meeks Stephenson. On Tuesday, June 1, 2010, a beautiful mother, daughter, sister, fiancé and friend was tragically taken from us. Daphne came into the world smiling May 2, 1972. She was a 1990 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School where she was a cheerleader and Homecoming Queen. She was a 1994 graduate of Auburn University and was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She touched many lives through her career in sales and marketing with her outgoing personality and contagious smile. Daphne was a devoted mother to her two precious daughters, Hannah Sue and Courtney Ann. Daphne was looking forward to planning her wedding with her fiancé, Don Parker, "the love of her life." She was an Account Executive with Bluewater Broadcasting where she was dedicated to her profession and was committed and loyal to her clients. Daphne is survived by her father, Hugh (Molly) Meeks; mother, Susan Mathews Meeks (Ken Wallace); daughters, Hannah Sue and Courtney Ann; brother, Hugh (Deidra) Meeks, III; niece, Jordyn Meeks; fiancé, Don Parker; step-sisters, Ashley Barnett, Jojo (Matt) Meredith; uncles, Dr. Jack (Kaye) Mathews, Dr. Danny (Becky) Mathews, Pat (Jackie) Mathews, and many cousins, extended family, and special friends. Pallbearers will be Pat Mathews, Dr. Wright Mathews, Winn Mathews, Chris Parker, Jerome Davidson, and Robert Wallace. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Daphne Stephenson Memorial Fund established for Daphne Stephenson's children, Hannah and Courtney through Bank Trust, 951 Taylor Rd, Montgomery, AL 36117, account number 65007577. Funeral will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Leak-Memory Chapel. Visitation will be from 12:30PM to 2:00PM. Funeral services will begin at 2:00PM in the chapel, with Reverend John Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
