

David James Phillips died Wednesday morning, June 15, 2016. Born in Texas, he most recently lived in Gadsden where he was the kitchen manager at the CED Fellowship House. He was known for his 10 years of sobriety as he encouraged others. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Ralph and Barbara Holloway Phillips. Survived by his brother; Rick Phillips, his sister; Cindy McCracken (Larry), his children; Jennifer Royal, Darrell Phillips and Emmy Phillips; his grandchildren; Hunner Blake Royal and Taylor Christian Royal, and several nieces and nephews, Mr. Phillips leaves behind a rich legacy of family.
He served the Air Guard in Alpena, Michigan for 20+ years as an air traffic controller.
