father David Paul Wilson, age 66, on February 9, 2025, in Montgomery, Alabama. Born in Omaha, Nebraska on October 16, 1958, David was the first of seven children and the beloved son of David Glenn and Mary Clare Seward Wilson. He is survived by his two beautiful children and his loving parents and siblings (spouses): Michael (Jacki), Mark (Holly), John (Gail), and Tom (Kerry) Wilson, Kathy (Kelly) Kearse and Helen (John) McDermott. David was also a favored uncle of many nieces and nephews. David loved the theater and spent much of his life on the stage, beginning in high school and his early college days in Sierra Vista, Arizona, starring in The Merry Widow, 1776, and South Pacific, to name a few. At Northern Arizona University, he was John the Baptist/Judas in Godspell. Following college, he joined and travelled with Covenant Players for five years, having played lead roles in separate productions of Jesus Christ Superstar. Eventually, he made his way to New York City. While there, David played “Santa” at the 34th Street Macy’s and performed in Off-Broadway productions. He attended the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts, from which he received an Associate’s Degree. David married Diane Urbanski, who is the compassionate and supportive mother of his two children. Together, they worked at Harris Polls (later Gordon, Black, and Associates; now Nielsen) for 25+ years. Becoming some of the original tele-commuters, they made their way to Montgomery, AL in 1999 as Diane continued higher education. David’s love of acting extended to Auburn University of Montgomery, performing in varied roles through the years. In addition, he participated in the highly regarded Alabama Shakespeare Festival, even during the early COVID years. David completed his education in Montgomery, obtaining
both a Bachelor’s Degree and Master of Arts Degree from AUM. David was an avid reader, he had a broad taste in music, and was a great lover of knowledge, critical thinking, and lively discussions around family tables and friendly firepits. Theology and social justice were among his favorite topics. Ultimately, what was most important to David was strength of character and love of family and friends. He was a
gentle soul, extremely generous, and desired to make others happy. Beloved, rest peacefully.
