

Donna was born to William Hatch West, Sr. and Edna Finch West in Tishomingo, Mississippi on September 5, 1929. She graduated as valedictorian from Okolona High School in Okolona, Mississippi in 1947 and attended the Mississippi State College for Women the following year. She married Walter Greer Nanney, Jr, her loving husband of 74 years, on September 2, 1949.
Lovingly and diligently serving her husband, family, and friends was one of her greatest attributes. Her service and commitment extended to her long-time church, Frazer Church, and community, to which she generously gave her time with the ‘Meals on Wheels’ program. For decades she embraced the youth and children around her. Her hobbies were extensive from sewing and crocheting to traveling across the world with her husband and closest friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Greer Nanney, Jr., her infant daughter, Linda Dianne Nanney, two great granddaughters, Kinsley Ann-Marie Snowden-Nanney and Olivia Greer Spurlin and one brother.
Survivors include her daughter, Suzanne Nanney Spurlin of Montgomery, son Robert Walter Nanney (Jeri) of Senatobia, Mississippi, five grandchildren - Jeff Spurlin (Erica), Chad Spurlin, Mark Spurlin (Jessica), Benjamin Nanney (Hali) and Holly Nanney and eight great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service for immediate family will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery with interment to follow. Family visitation one hour prior.
