Doris Juanita Blackshear was born on September 30, 1933 in Niceville, Florida. She passed into eternal glory on January 5, 2019. On June 14, 1951 she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Master Sergeant USAF William Wesley Blackshear.
Over the years, she took great joy in her work at Gayfers and retired from Dillards. She was a member of DAR. Her greatest joy in this life was her family. She was blessed to have the greatest honor of "Gigi" great grandmother.
Mrs. Blackshear was preceded in death by her husband, William Wesley Blackshear and her beloved sister Jean Cunningham. Doris is survived by a host of loving family members including: her brothers Bennie Adams (Marie) and Michael Adams (Nancy), her daughters Sherry Motley and Deborah Bell (Ronald), her grandchildren Dr. Gus W. Bell (Megan) and Leslie Motley-Tingle (Thomas). She is also survived by her treasured great granddaughters Samantha Grace Bell and Lillian Koi Tingle as well as her very special friend and companion Burl Murphy.
A visitation is set for Wednesday, January 9 at 1:00 pm in White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home followed by a 2:00 pm graveside in Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested that memorials be sent to the Wounded Warriors Project.
