Doris Talley Mathews

Doris Talley Mathews, age 92, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022. Doris was born August 18, 1929 to William Henry Talley and Lillie Alice Gann Talley. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy Mathews Jr., her sons Gary Lamar Mathews and Roy Mathews III, her brothers and sisters, James Faroe Talley (Vivian); Virgil “Gene” Talley (Evelyn); Mable Talley Frazier (O’Vaughn); Myrtle Talley Sylvest (Maynard); and Margaret Talley Coughenour (Howard).

Mrs. Mathews is survived by her daughter Patricia Mathews, her son Wayne Mathews (Kim), her niece Wanda Lambert (W.D.), grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as several great nieces.

Doris was a member of Eastmont Baptist Church and a member of Wayne Meadows Sunday School Class. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her family and friends were always first in her heart. She was very deeply loved and with her passing she will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

A celebration of life graveside service for Mrs. Mathews will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Alabama Heritage Cemetery, 10505 Atlanta Hwy., Montgomery, AL 36117 with Don Messick officiating.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Mitchem, Jackie Todd, Tanner Mitchem, Mickey Mathews and Doug Moseley with honorary pallbearers Tommy Hitson, Steve Harris, Lamar Daughtry, and the Wayne Meadows Sunday School Class.
