Douglas R. Stabler, age 74, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Thursday March 7, 2019. Douglas was born September 10, 1944. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Peggy Stabler; father, R.B. Stabler, 101 years old (Eleanor); daughter, Darla Rogers (Anthony); brother, Steve Stabler (Deborah); grandchildren, Braxton, Gavin and Gracie Dorsey; niece, Della Killingsworth (Joel). He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Frances Gordon Stabler.
Douglas retired from the US Air Force after 35 years of honorable service as a Senior Master Sergeant. He also worked for the Telephone Company for 43 years and was a longtime member of the Grandview Pines Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be at Leak Memory Chapel on Wednesday, March 13, at 11:00am.
Terry Claunch, Jack Cates, and Lary Sadler will be speaking at the funeral. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Greenville, Alabama, at 2:30pm with speaker Bill Ward.
