Edgar Wyatt Stephens, 82 of Montgomery, Alabama passed away Monday, March 23, 2026. He was preceded in death by Father Oliver D. Stephens; Mother Hassie Mann Stephens; brother Herbert Stephens; sister Olivia Rineheart. He was a member of St. Bede Catholic Church. Some of his greatest accomplishments include teaching children math, working as an accountant for the Commission on Aging, where he helped to bring the Medicaid Waiver program to Montgomery which is still going strong today. He was also appointed Interim Director of the Commission on Aging. Wyatt loved poetry and became an award-winning poet. Wyatt appreciated and loved his relatives that would call him regularly, especially Gwen Davis and Tim Hall. Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Greenwood Cemetery with Father Alejandro Valladaris officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Bede Catholic Church located at 3870 Atlanta Highway Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
