Edward Joseph Bunke

Edward J Bunke was born April 9, 1947 and passed away on August 26, 2015 at the age of 68 after a brief illness. A native of San Francisco CA, he was the son of Edward and Dorothy Bunke. Before moving to Alabama he served for a brief time in the United States Air Force where he used his knowledge of drafting and architectural designing. Skilled in carpentry, plumbing and the electrical trade, he put his talents to work as the sole owner of a local electrical construction company for more than 15 years. He also operated a materials transport company in his later years. He cherished the friendships he built over the years. He loved fishing, spending time with his family, and working on inventions in his shop. A committed Christian, he enjoyed the comradery he found among fellow believers at the Journey Men's group. He is survived by his wife Sanfra Bunke, and 2 children, daughter Kimberly Bunke, and son Matthew (Tara) Bunke. His grandchildren are Nora, Elijah, and Kyle Bunke. He is also survived by his father Edward H. Bunke, sister Kathy (Mickey) Pedroni, and brothers Larry Bunke, Tommy Hall and nieces Kerrie Daniel, Bernadette, nephews Kevin Schortgen and Richard Bunke. Services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 4475 Atlanta Hwy, Montgomery, Saturday September 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Condolences may be offered at www.leak-mc.com.
