Mr. Turner taught at Faulkner University for many years, and he had served as an elder at University Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E.J. Turner, Sr. and Odessa Turner; and six siblings.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Rose Bradley Turner; children, Paul Turner and his wife, June, Lisa Turner and her husband, Burke Johnson; grandchildren, David Turner and his wife, Mashea , Jessica Turner, Thomas Johnson; great-grandchildren, Emerson Turner, Walker Turner; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM, Monday, January 18, 2016 at University Church of Christ with Gary Bradley and Dr. Paul Turner officiating. The burial will follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery. The family will begin to accept friends at 1:00 PM, prior to the service. Leak Memory Chapel is directing.
