Eloise (Sissy) Stakely Virgin Nichols born on March 25, 1940, passed away on April 29, 2022 in Birmingham, AL. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. William Beverly and Eloise Stakely Virgin and her beloved husband John Hayward Nichols. She is survived by her children, Patricia Dean (Danny), Klenton LeGrand McLemore (Patricia), William Wadsworth McLemore (Glenda), Davis Stakely McLemore, Eloise Virgin Frye, and Dr. Ira Stanley Frye, her brother, Dr. William B. Virgin, Jr, sisters, Ginger Virgin Smith and Betsy Virgin Shepard, her grandchildren, Michelle Evans, Brandi McLemore-Naqvi, John Hayward McLemore, LeGrand McLemore, Morton McLemore, Kate McLemore, Scout McLemore, Shannon Wilson, Jeni Quinn, Justin Rhodes, Zack Fitzpatrick, Drew Frye, Shelby Frye, Daniel Dean, and Courtney Corum, a host of great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Sissy worked for 25 plus years for the Alabama State Senate in Montgomery, AL. She was devoted to her work and was equally devoted to her family. She made many friends and will always be remembered for her engaging personality and her kindness to everyone. Sissy was never without an animal in her life and leaves behind her precious dog, Remi. A visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. A Chapel service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. A burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
