Emmett Eugene “Gene” Walker, 92, of Montgomery, a faithful servant of Jesus Christ, went to be with his Lord on September 6, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret Walker; daughter, Donna W. Apperson (Kenneth); son, Steven Walker (Sheri) ; grandchildren, Jarod, Braden (Jayne), Grant Apperson, Meg Tebbs (Jon), Kristen Howell (Ben), Amanda Walker, Andrew Walker (Allison); and 5 great grandchildren. Gene worked for the State of Alabama Highway Department as a Professional Civil Engineer for 38 years. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Eastern Hills Baptist Church, from 1 PM – 3 PM with a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday at 3 PM at Eastern Hills Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held on Sunday September 10, 2017 at Greenwood Serenity Cemetery at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Lottie Moon Offering at Eastern Hills Baptist Church.
