Mrs. Eva B. Boggan Lunsford

Eva Bernice Boggan Lunsford was born December 9, 1927 in Butler County, Alabama and died May 30, 2012 in Montgomery County, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ray Lunsford; her son, Michael J. Lunsford; her daughter, Martha Leslie Lunsford; her parents, Willie J. and Martha Pope Boggan; two sisters, Wilerva Gafford and Lerline Hayes; and two brothers, Daniel Vernon Boggan and Willie J. Boggan, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law, Eva and Doug Ansley; her grandson, Kristopher Ansley; her brother, Wilson Boggan, many nieces, nephews and cousins, including her devoted in-law Jean Gafford and her beloved niece Janice Talley. Richard Williams loved her and she loved him. Fannie Croswell provided companionship, support and unfailing respect. The staff of Crowne Health Care gave her safety, comfort and tender care. Mrs. Lunsford was a devoted member of the Church of Christ her entire life until dementia took her away from that community. Throughout her life she gave her time, energy and loving care to all who knew her and as a volunteer with Hospice, the Alzheimer’s Support Group and others.

Her last years were marked by the ravages of dementia but she was never defined by it. She fought bravely against the darkness, continued to touch people’s lives, and she will be sorely missed.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm, Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Leak Memory Chapel with Rev. Cliff Stever officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association @ www.alz.org
