
Floyd Steven Dailey, 85, of Montgomery, AL, passed away on July 10, 2022. A Memorial service will be held at Leak Memory Chapels' Rose Room on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. until time of service.
He was born in Monroe County Alabama in 1937 and by profession he was a registered nurse, registered respiratory therapist and was certified in health services administration. In the mid to late 1970’s he was Director of Respiratory Therapy at Jackson Hospital. He worked as a physician’s assistant to Dr. Shepherd Odom and Dr. Jim McRae (1984-1988) and Dr. Hugh MacGuire and Dr. Melanie Benton (1988-1998). In addition to his love of medicine, he loved seniors. This lead to his position as Director of Nursing and the Administrator of the Alabama Masonic Home (1998-2001). Followed were many years dedicated to Director of Nursing Service, Assistant Administrator, Weekend Manager and Weekend Administrator at Sun Bridge Health Care, Merry Wood Lodge Nursing Facility and John Knox Manor.
He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd Dailey and mother Maybelle Dailey, both of Mexia, AL; and his sister Louise Barefield of Birmingham, AL.
He is survived by his children Leslie Dailey York, Braxton P. Dailey (Nicole), Phillip Dailey (Nancy) and Mitchell Dailey (Kelly); grandchildren, Nickolas York, Emma Grace York, Jackson Dailey, Sullivan Dailey and Timothy Dailey.
