

Floyd Howard Gray Sr., of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Wednesday, January 25th, 2012 at the age of 96. He was born September 22, 1915, in Town Creek, AL. After marrying his first wife, Verna Elizabeth Holmes (deceased, 1974), he served as a military police officer in World War II. After the war, they moved to Montgomery where they started their family, having one son, Floyd Howard Gray, Jr. (deceased, 1991). Floyd attended Jones School of Law, graduating in 1955. He worked for the State of Alabama Department of Revenue for over 30 years, where he met his second wife, Frances W. Gray (deceased, Sept. 2011). They were married for 34 years. He was a dedicated member of Dalraida Church of Christ. He is survived by his grandchildren: Floyd H. “Chip” Gray III and Elizabeth Gray, Ashley Brittain, Eric Morse, Trey and David Suggs. He is also survived by his two sisters-in-law: Patricia Russell and Barbara Bowman. The visitation and funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 30th, at Leak Memory Funeral Home.
