Randy was married to Betty Joyce Wiles, his beloved wife of 65 years. He was the son of Benjamin Franklin Wiles and Ailene Wiles, both of whom have also passed. Franklin leaves behind a family who cherished him deeply, including his sons, Jerry Wiles and Frank Wiles. He was a proud grandfather to Conner Wiles, Liz Adams, Rick Price, Heather Wiles, Matt Wiles, and Alyssa Wiles, and a great-grandfather to Brody Gerace and Jaden Gerace. His extended family includes his sister-in-law Peggy Hudson, brother-in-law Floyd Hudson, nephew Kevin Hudson, and great niece Lyla Hudson.
Randy served his country with honor in both the Army and the Air Force. After his military service, he dedicated his professional life to the State of Alabama Vital Statistics Office, from which he eventually retired.
In his personal life, Randy was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed following football, particularly the Miami Dolphins and the University of Alabama. Additionally, he had a keen interest in a variety of NASCAR drivers.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on January 20, 2026, at 10:00 am at the White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, located at 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life Chapel Service at 11:00 am at the same venue, with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Dr. Teman Knight will serve as officiant.
