

George Truitt Luckie, 87, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, died Saturday, February 25, 2017. Funeral Services will be held at Leak-Memory Chapel on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. David Cook and Rev. John Luckie, Jr. officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in Greenwood Serenity Cemetery. Mr. Luckie was a proud Auburn University graduate, and he retired from the Civil Engineer Squadron at Maxwell Air Force Base after 38 years of dedicated service. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Edna Luckie. He is survived by two daughters, Laura Luckie Howell of Largo, FL and Paige (Roger) Shultz of Spanish Fort; two sons, Truitt (Kathy) Luckie of Vestavia Hills and Warner (Christi) Luckie of Montgomery; grandchildren, Zach Luckie, Austin Luckie, Chandlar Luckie, Dudley Luckie, Ivan Shultz, Mallory Swain, Hanna Swain, Travis (Kellyn) Vines, Aaron Vines; and one sister, Mary Alice Parker. Pallbearers will be Austin Luckie, Dudley Luckie, Ivan Shultz, Roger Shultz, Rob Spivey, Daniel Warner, Joe Wingard. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Fairview United Methodist Church, 5500 Old Selma Road, Montgomery, AL 36108 or to Brantwood Children’s Home, 1309 Upper Wetumpka Road, Montgomery, AL 36107.
