George Henry Pope

George Henry Pope, age 78, of Nolensville, TN and formerly of Montgomery, AL, passed away on November 29th, 2011. George was born in State Line, MS. He served in the US Army as a member of the 527th Military Police in Germany from 1954 to 1955. He was an active member of the Nolensville First Baptist Church in Nolensville, TN where he served as a deacon and treasurer. George was also a beloved former member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL for 40 years where he served as a deacon. George devoted his life to the Lord and to the service of others. He is survived by his wife, Alma Jean Pope of Nolensville, TN; sons, Roy Pope of Nashville, TN, Darryle Pope of Birmingham, AL, and Scott Pope of Brentwood, TN; grandchildren, Stephanie Pope, Stuart Pope, Miranda Pope, Maggie Pope and Hank Pope. Services will be held at Leak- Memory Chapel in Montgomery, with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM on Saturday, December 3rd and funeral services officiated by Pastor Rick Marshall at 11AM. The burial will be immediately following at Greenwood & Serenity Memorial Gardens. Arrangements under the direction of Leak Memory Chapel, Montgomery, AL.
