George Bernard Shellman, Jr.,94, of Cecil, Alabama devoted husband, father, and Civil Administrator passed from this life on June 16. Funeral services will be at Leak-Memory Chapel Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 2:00 with visitation 1 hour prior. Predeceased by the love of his life Edna Till Shellman after 63 years of marriage; he is survived by children Paula Lansdon, George B. Shellman, III (Jan), three granddaughters, and five great grandchildren. He was a WWII veteran having served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. stationed in Boca Raton, Florida. He was honorably discharged in 1944 after being injured on a training mission. He obtained a law degree from Jones Law School and after working for the Veterans Administration for 39 years retired as Division Chief for the Veterans Service Office.
