Gerald Morris Hammond passed away peacefully Wed. Sept. 25 at his Montgomery home. He is preceded in death by his wife Annetta Martin Hammond. He is survived by a daughter, Nanette Hammond Lloyd (Robert) of Montgomery, a step daughter, Debbie Fernambucq (Barry) of Verbena and a step son, Leslie White (Cheryl) of Montevallo and a dear friend, Richard O. Ball of Montgomery. He leaves 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Gerald served in the Navy in World War II and worked in the X-Ray sales and service business. He was a long time member of Hunter Street Baptist Church in Birmingham and lately Frazer Memorial UMC in Montgomery. Visitation will be at 9AM Friday at Leak Memory Chapel with the service at 10 AM, and burial at College Park Cemetery in Atlanta. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the activities fund at Wesley Gardens Retirement Facility, where Gerald was made welcome and loved spending time with his friends.
