Glenn "Bud" Owen

Glenn A. “Bud” Owen, 73, of Montgomery, AL defeated cancer and entered his heavenly home Sunday July 29, 2012 surrounded by family. Bud served in the USAF and retired from CSX Transportation after 41 years of working on the railroad. He spent his last decade working as a carpenter doing home renovations. Bud was preceded in death by his father Glenn and sister Lois and is survived by his mother Faye of Mountain View, California. Bud deeply loved his wife of 55 years, Judie, and was a proud father to their 7 children; Dana (James) Garvin, Dawn (Joe) Ritter, Buddy Owen, Karen Maddox, Kim Owen, David (Julie) Owen and Jon Owen. He was also a proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren. Bud was an active member of Landmark Church of Christ and loved to serve the church by cooking meals, cutting grass and warmly greeting everyone at Sunday services. He was a quiet, humble man known for his tender heart, generosity and servant spirit. Funeral services will be Wednesday August 1, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Leak Memory. Bud’s friends and ministers Mark Loudermilk and Buddy Bell will officiate the service. Pallbearers include grandsons, a nephew and friends. The family would like to express extreme gratitude to Isabeth, Ladonna and Linda of Baptist Hospice for their gentle caring and servant hearts in Bud’s last days.
