Gloria Millicent Moore

November 23, 1937 – January 31, 2026

Lisenby Moore, Gloria Millicent, age 88, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026. She was born on November 23, 1937, to the late Clarence and Edith Lisenby.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Mark DeVon Massey and James “Mike” Massey; her brothers, Clarence “Mickey” Lisenby, James “Jimmy” Lisenby, and Crowell “Tony” Lisenby; and her sister, Nancy Lisenby Borders.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children: Clarence “Shep” Bowman, Shannan Bowman, and Sabra (Stanley) Simpson; her grandchildren: Caleb (Toni), Melody, Lindsey (Roy), Sydney, Michael (Beca), Sara (Brandon), Kristie, Amber (Dennis), Heather, Katie, and Spencer (Caleb); her sister-in-law, Reba Lisenby; 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, along with a host of nieces and nephews. She is also lovingly remembered by her special friend, Elizabeth Tucker.

Gloria’s love knew no limits, and her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and prayer. She was a devoted, God-fearing Christian whose faith guided every part of her life. Gloria was a longtime member of Capital Heights Baptist Church, where she found great joy in Sunday School and singing in the choir.

She retired after many years of dedicated service from the Montgomery VA Medical Center and Mental Health America of Montgomery.

Gloria leaves behind a powerful legacy of faith, love, and devotion to God and family—one that will continue to live on through generations.

A Family and Friends Visitation will be held on February 6, 2026, at 11:00 am at Capitol Heights Baptist Church, located at 2514 Madison Ave., Montgomery, AL. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at the same location at 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Capitol Heights Baptist Church.
