

Mr. Heartsill was born in Butler County, Alabama, and was a graduate of Lowndes County High School in Fort Deposit, Alabama. After serving in the U.S. Army 151st Combat Engineer Battalion during the Korean War, he attended Troy State University, where he furthered his education.
Mr. Heartsill enjoyed a long and successful career in the petroleum industry, retiring as Vice-President of Russell Petroleum. His career also included working with Texaco, Inc.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Heartsill was deeply involved in his community. He was a founding Board member of Hooper Academy and served on the board of directors of Cantelou Community Center. He was also a key figure in establishing a neighborhood crime watch group, demonstrating his commitment to the safety and well-being of his community.
Mr. Heartsill was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-five years, Fay Heartsill; his parents, Willie V. and Edna Heartsill; and his brother, Billy Heartsill. He is survived by his sons, Mike (Bonita) Heartsill and Brent Heartsill; his grandsons, Weston (Christina) Heartsill and Will Heartsill; and his sister, Jean (James) Chandler.
A visitation will be held at Leak Memory, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Thursday, February 27th at 12:00. A graveside service will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens at 1:00 pm.
