On July 24, 1955, she married Louis L. Floyd III. As his devoted wife, she traveled the world at his side. Their travels included Turkey, Great Britain, Greece, Germany and Portugal. Her greatest love and accomplishments are her daughters: Karen Floyd Prestage and Ronda Floyd Smith. She would be quick to tell you that her family came first before anything else and was her greatest source of pride.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Dr. Louis L. Floyd III and granddaughter, Jacqueleen "Jackie" Prestage. She is survived by sister Daisy Washington, Chicago, Illinois, sister Patsy Parker, Las Vegas, Nevada, daughters Karen Floyd Prestage, Montgomery, Alabama and Ronda Floyd (Wilbert) Smith, Kinnesaw, Georgia, granddaughter Sydney Smith, great grandson, Jaleal Moten-Prestage, niece Denise Davenport, Chicago, Illinois; lifelong friend Ola Mae Kirkpatrick, Haynesville, Louisiana; dedicated friends Dorothy Waver Smith, Montgomery, Alabama and Mary Jolly, Newport News, Virginia. She was truly loved and will be missed by many friends and loved ones all over the United States and Azores Portugal.
She will always be remembered as a woman of virtue, love and compassion.
A visitation for Greta will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. A celebration of life service will occur Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 12:00 PM, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. A committal service will occur at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
