Helen Diane Uptain

Miss Helen Diane Uptain, age 82, of Lynchburg, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 16, 2025. Born on August 31, 1943, in Montgomery, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Paul Uptain and Mrs. Jimmie Lou Harper Uptain. Diane was the beloved sister to Mr. Phillip Uptain of Louisville, Kentucky, and Mrs. Terina (Tina) Uptain Ditto, married to Mr. Randy Ditto, of Normandy, Tennessee. She was the devoted aunt to Amy Uptain Magner and her husband, Jeff Magner, of Spring, Texas; Annette Uptain of Kemah, Texas; Patrick Uptain of Nashville, Tennessee; Tana Ditto Adams and her husband, Ben Adams, of Fayetteville, Tennessee; and David Ditto, also of Nashville, Tennessee. Diane also took great joy in her role as great-aunt to Brooke and Jake Magner, Ethan and Andrew Himmelman, and Chloe and Kacey Sanderson.

She also joins in eternal rest her brothers, Hubert Uptain and Herbert Uptain, and her niece, Katherine Ditto Sanderson. Diane was a faithful member of Redland Road Church of Christ, Wetumpka, Alabama before becoming a devout member of the Fairlane Church of Christ in Shelbyville, Tennessee, Diane's commitment to her faith was unwavering. Her love and devotion will always be remembered by all the children she took care of over the years including her nieces and nephews. Along with her love for children, Diane loved singing and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, Alabama, Sunday, March 23 with visitation at 1:00 and funeral will be held there at 2:00. Graveside services will be immediately following at Greenwood Cemetery. Miss Uptain was a treasured member of the Montgomery community before relocating to Wetumpka, and eventually to Tennessee in 2012 with her family. Her strength, kindness, and compassion will endure in the memories of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
