It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of W. Herman Culpepper, age 85, of Wetumpka, AL. Herman passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023. He died peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit of UAB Hospital with family at his side after suffering a massive stroke on Friday, September 1, 2023.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol Lynn Culpepper, and his two sons who he was very proud of, Dr. Kevin Culpepper (Mabel) and Mr. Phillip Culpepper (Shannon). He leaves behind his beloved granddaughters Carlynn Culpepper, Cara Culpepper, Amelia Culpepper, and his brother Daniel Culpepper (Jo), nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as brother-in-laws, David A. Lynn (Ann) and Dr. Dennis C. Lynn (Ella). He was also looking forward with great anticipation to the arrival of his forth granddaughter, Charlotte. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Ivey and Pauline Culpepper, and his brother, Rudolph Culpepper.
Herman was born on December 4, 1937, in Echols County, GA. He played basketball for Lake Park High School in Lake Park, GA for four years. He was an award-winning sales representative/territory manager for the Foods Division of the Coca-Cola Company for many years selling his much-loved coffee. He was an avid amateur photographer, loved woodworking, golf, coffee, original Coca-Cola, Georgia Bulldogs, and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. But most of all he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and his family.
A family and friends visitation for Herman will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.
