

Dismukes, USAF Res (Retired) Jr., SMSGT. Jackson Bernard, 81, died in his home Friday, August 6, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Jackson B. (Jane) Dismukes, Sr.; nephews, John F. Dismukes, Jr. and Steven C. Dismukes and father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Henry (Polly) Meacham, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn M. Dismukes; his daughters, Vicki (Chris) Brown and Gina (Walter) Lawrence; grandsons, Joshua Brown, Trevor Lawrence and Garrett Lawrence; brother, John F. (Tedddy) Dismukes, Sr.; niece, Amy (Joe) Fulton; brother-in-law, James H. (Charlotte) Meacham, Jr.; nieces, Becky (Wayne) Chance and Melinda (Michael) Smith, several great-nephews, a great-niece and a host of other family and friends. Mr. Dismukes proudly served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy and twenty years in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He also served the citizens of Montgomery for thirty-seven years with First Alabama/Regions Bank.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021, at St. James Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial immediately following in Greenwood Cemetery with Dr. Lester Spencer, Rev. Walter Albritton, Rev. Mike McKnight and Rev. Vaughn Stafford officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris Brown, Walter Lawrence, James Meacham, Jr., Eddie Davis, Jim Debardelaben, and Don Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Stanley Frazer Sunday School Class, St. James Church Chancellor Choir, and members of the St. James Church “Young at Heart.” Special thanks to Brooke Herman, Mike Elrod, Gayla Peoples, Shanna Davis and Unice Catlin of Southeast Hospice Network. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Church, 9045 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, AL 36117 or Southeast Hospice Network, 3001 Zelda Road, Suite 330, Montgomery, AL 36106.
