James "Jim" Warren Brazell Jr.

James “Jim” Warren Brazell Jr., 74, went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2026, at his home in Montgomery, Alabama. Born in Montgomery on January 6, 1952, Jim loved God, Auburn University, and his family fiercely.

Jim dedicated his life to the Lord and was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Montgomery. He believed in the power of prayer and trusted God in all things.

Jim grew up in Pasadena, Texas, and graduated from Sam Rayburn High School. He was a proud alumnus of Auburn University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1975. It was also at Auburn that he met Alice, his future wife of 51 years. Few things delighted him more than supporting his Tigers in both football and basketball. A season ticket holder, donor, and member of the Samford Society, Jim believed in Auburn and loved it.

Jim spent the majority of his professional career in insurance sales and financial planning, taking great pride in working hard to provide for his family. He was a jokester, a confidant, a storyteller, a poet, a historian, a human calculator, and the best Gampy his boy could ever ask for.

Jim is survived by his wife, Alice Hogan Brazell; his daughter, Jamie Ashley Brazell (Hal); his sisters, Debbie Brazell Boulet (Darryl), Christina Kaiser Lott (Tony), Donna Camille Brazell, Susan Kay Brazell Autrey (Eddie), and Barbara Ann Brazell; and his granddogs, Gatsby and Kodi.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brandon Christopher Brazell; his parents, James Warren Brazell Sr. and Joyce Kaiser Hall; and his brothers, Anthony Wayne Kaiser, Scott Tyrone Kaiser, and David Wayne Brazell.

A family and friends visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

A celebration of life service will take place at the same venue on February 12, 2026, starting at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
