My Grandaddy showed the world what love is. Made every human being know and feel their value. He was the best listener and knew how to bring calmness to the storms in my life especially. He was so simple and always reassuring. I never went a moment without him telling me he loved me or how beautiful I am. ♥️ I am grateful I grew to be 27 and have had him in my life. And even more for my fiancé to have the relationship they had together. I know he’ll be there when I walk the isle. ♥️ 

Jimmy was  part of our family the Hawkins and Jackson.  He was a wonderful man. We love you and going to miss you.

He was such a sweet soul who has always been good to my brother and very understanding to my brothers disability. We met Jimmy while volunteering at the Zoo and he always made us feel important.  He was one of the kindest people we have ever met.

Jimmy was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.  When I made a post on facebook, I was shocked that Relatives in Tennessee that we see maybe once a year remember my parents talking about him, so he was definitely loved by my family .  I will miss hugs and smiles.  RIP Jimmy

Our family is more than heartbroken  of the passing of a beloved man. To many he was a friend, colleague, mentor, brother, father, grandfather and so much more. He was a truly remarkable man who touched the lives of so many with his love, kindness, and hard work. I feel incredibly grateful to have known him and to have shared in the warmth of his presence.

One of my most cherished memories is of him at my wedding, where his beaming smile and loving spirit filled the entire room with joy. His heartfelt hugs and wise words made the day even more special, and I will forever hold that memory close to my heart.

We have lost a great man. Jimmy and I go back to 1970 when I  became a Police Officer with MPD.  From that point on I realized what a kind, and helpful man he was. That friendship remained solid for over 50 years. Jimmy was never too busy to do for others. He set an example that we should all follow.  My wife and I will truly miss him.  My most heartfelt condolences to Jimmy's family.

I am so sorry to the family! I had a pleasure of working on and off with Jimmy for the last two years at the zoo. He was the sweetest & most caring man. By far my favorite ‘boss’ out of any job we have ever had, and we travel to a lot of different states. May God rest his soul. I will keep his whole family in my prayers. The world really lost a good one, they don’t make ‘em Like Jimmy no more that’s for sure. Love you Jimmy and may your soul rest in peace!

My first meeting into Jimmy’s life and world … of course it included great food at his restaurant. One of my fondest memories is of Jimmy shopping at a local farmers market - searching for the very best tomatoes to take home and share with me. He truly enjoyed sharing the gift of food and life. Thank you 🙏 

Jimmy was so special and always made me feel like I was special too. I will miss seeing him at the zoo. He always made my day brighter. 

I'm sorry for your loss. Mr.Jimmy was the  sweetest man I know. I first met him when I was 16 working for the city. Every since then he treated me like I was his own.I love you Mr.Jimmy I know you are in heaven smiling and proud of what you have done. I want to thank your family for sharing a wonderful man.

To say our family is devastated with the sudden passing of our beloved Grandaddy (Jimmy), would be a disservice. 

Not only did Grandaddy absolutely cherish his family, he also had the up most admiration for the ones closest to him, as well as, the community he proudly served for decades. 

I am so proud to be one of his granddaughters and will continue his legacy of love and respect onto my children and so forth. 

Thank you for all of the fond memories and for the love you showered upon us daily. 

I love you so much Grandaddy. I know you’ll be waiting for me in heaven with open arms and the best hugs anyone could give.

Jimmy was truly a good man and a great friend. I'm going to really miss him but I know he's with the Lord now.  

My Brother and my friend. I won't embarrass either of us telling  about how much fun we had getting out of trouble through the years. I'm sorry we are going to miss the Powersville reunion, but Heaven ain't that far away these days, so I'll see you when I get there!

Jimmie will certainly be missed.  He was a very kind person who was always happy.  Our prayers and thoughts are with his family.

He was a very near dear friend Of 50 years a big heart could always count on him made no difference.
