James Edward Meredith Jr.

James Edward Meredith, Jr. age 36, of Grady, AL, passed away at 2:40 am on October 1, 2016. Funeral services will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Friday, October 7, 2016, at 11 am with Pastor Chad Holmes officiating. There will be a visitation preceding the services from 10 am -11 am. Interment will be at Greenwood Serenity Cemetary in Montgomery, AL.

Jay is survived by his wife Carlie Meredith, 3 children Savannah Lynn (17), Brody James (5), and Luke Jenkins (2), mother Linda Payne of Autaugaville, AL, grandmother Verla Mae Meredith of Montgomery, AL, sister Michele Johnson (Johnny) of Autaugaville, AL, Christy Ellis (Chip) of Montgomery, AL, brother-in-law Jarrod Craven (Jessica) of Dothan, AL, sister-in-law Daunika Womack (William) of Monroeville, brother-in-law Jamie Craven of Brundidge, AL, 5 nieces, 3 nephews.

Jay was preceded in death by his father James Edward Meredith, Sr., grandfather Comer Meredith, grandmother Barbara Landers, and grandfather C.B. May.

Jay was a family man who loved spending time with close friends enjoying the outdoors and Auburn football. He worked hard to provide for his family and put their needs above his own. He was so full of life and loved by all he encountered. Heaven gained a precious angel that left this earth far too soon.
