Shannon, James William, 85, of Montgomery, AL passed away on April 7, 2016. James was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Pearl Goff Shannon; two brothers; and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jessie Shannon; his daughter, Alice Shannon Johnson (Jerry); grandchildren, Heather Eiland, Alicia Brooke Johnson, Melissa Forsythe (Casey), and Christian Marc Johnson; and great grandchildren, Shyla Eiland, Owen Feathers, and Brayden Forsythe. He was a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force where he served 20 years. He was a member of Hank Williams Museum, Woodman of the World, and Pickers and Grinners at Old town in Montgomery, AL. A visitation will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. A chapel service will be held Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 2:00PM with Bro. Claude Flynn officiating at White Chapel Funeral home. A burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Members of the Pickers and Grinners at Old town will be serving as pallbearers.
