Mr. James Glen Stringer

James Glen Stringer, 86, of Montgomery passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. James was a member of Eastmont Baptist Church and had served as President of his Sunday School Class for many years. He retired from Independent Life Insurance Company and was a veteran of WWII. James was also a member of the Montgomery Masonic Lodge # 11 F & AM and also the Alcazar Shriners. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Helen Stringer; Daughters: Diane Rivers of Mobile; Kathy (Don) Shaw, Wetumpka; Sister: Opal Peterson, Montgomery; Grandchildren: Wayne Rivers, Anji Stewart, Patrick Rivers, Peyton Rivers, Casey Shaw and Cory Shaw; Great Grandchildren: Colby Fisher, Abigail Stewart, Shelby Stewart, Emilie Shaw and Katie Shaw. Funeral services will be at 2 pm on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Leak Memory Chapel with Rev. Mike Northcutt officiating. Visitation will be from 1 until 2 pm. Interment will follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Pallbearers are Casey Shaw, Cory Shaw, Wayne Rivers, Steve Stewart, Ricky Hudman and Daniel Long. Honorary pallbearers are Patrick Rivers and members of the Mills Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in memory of James to Eastmont Baptist Church Building Fund.
