Jessie May Shannon, born on November 13, 1931, in Gibson, Tennessee, peacefully passed away on September 20, 2024. A devoted member of Capital Heights Church of Christ, Jessie found great joy in her faith and community. Family was the heart of Jessie’s life. She cherished her late husband, James Shannon, who preceded her in death in April 2016. Jessie leaves behind her beloved daughter, Alice Johnson (Jerry), and four adoring grandchildren: Heather Johnson (Jon), Brooke Johnson (Lance), Melissa Forsythe (Austin), and Marc Johnson. She also treasured her great-grandchildren, Shyla, Owen, Brayden, and Daylynn June, as well as her great-great-grandchild, Ember, who brought her immense joy and laughter. Jessie will be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and the profound impact she had on those around her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A visitation for Jessie will be held Monday, September 23, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM.
