Jewel Burkhalter Hughes, 89, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM at Leak Memory Chapel. Graveside services will be at 11:00AM at Greenwood Cemetery with Dr. Rick Lance officiating. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her parents, William and Trannie Burkhalter; stepmother, Ethel Burkhalter; and husband, Herman B. Hughes. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Oliver (David); grandsons, Matthew Oliver (Andi) of Pascagoula, MS, Mark Oliver (Krissy) of San Antonio, TX, Michael Oliver of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; and great granddaughter, Avery Lynn Oliver. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions can be made to The Caring Center at First Baptist Church of Montgomery in memory of Jewel B. Hughes
