

Jimmy Frank Meacham was born on May 5, 1936, to Howard and Odessa Meacham in Roanoke, Alabama, and graduated to Glory September 16, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Myra, his daughter Debbie Walker and Son-in-law Les; three grandchildren; April Elisabeth Tompkins, Heather Anne Clark and her husband Chris, Joshua Scott Walker, and two Great-Grandchildren Levi and Ezra Clark. He is also survived by his two younger siblings; Darlo Hartdegen and Anthony Meacham and many nieces, nephews, cousins, loving friends and dear neighbors.
Jimmy graduated from Chilton County High School Class of 1954 and served in the Air Force. He and Myra married in June of 1956. He worked for the State of Alabama in the Revenue Department and retired in 1998 after 21 years. He was active in the United States Air National Guard from 1976-1996 retiring as a Master Sergeant.
He was a faithful and dedicated member at Eastmont Baptist Church serving as a Deacon, working with Carpenters for Christ, and being involved in many other areas of ministry within the church. He served as an Active Law Enforcement Chaplain from 2003-2018. Recently he was also involved with prison ministry. He enjoyed being an active member of Gideons International. Additionally, he was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.
For several years he had an online daily ministry he called “My Thought for Today”, which shared with many people his faith, his prayers, and scripture filled thoughts that dealt with our Christian day to day lives.
If you knew Jimmy you knew he adored his wife Myra, was a wonderful loving Daddy to Debbie, a fun bigger than life Papaw to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a true and faithful friend to those blessed to share this life with him.

A Celebration of Life for Jimmy will be Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Eastmont Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama with visitation being at 11:00 AM and service to follow at 12:00 PM.
Burial will be Monday, September 22, 2025 at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama at 11:00.
