Joanne Karen Groome, age 85, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away in Clayton, North Carolina on Thursday, May 11, 2023. Born to Hazel and Orlo Dale Brownell in 1937 in Montevido, MN but raised in Granite Falls, MN. Joanne worked as an administrative assistant within a Civil Service role at a variety of Air Force Bases. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger Groome; her children, Sandi Sprankle and Sheryl Gray; and her sister, Donna (David) Jepson. Mrs. Groome is survived by her son, Mark Brummer and stepdaughter, Tina Hutto.
A friends and family visitation for Joanne will be held Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. Following the friends and family visitation will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. Sam Long will be officiating.
