Thomas Joseph Brantley, age 87, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021. Joe was born September 23, 1933 in Montgomery, Alabama to Ernest W. Brantley and Leonora Lopez Brantley. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ernest W. Brantley Jr.; his sister Margaret Ann Ryals and his daughter Stephanie (Lee) Courson. He is survived by his daughters Belinda (Mike) Yarbrough, Teresa Norris and Felicia (Robby) Atnip; his sister Beverly Andrew; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A Korean veteran, he served in the Air Force and later became an aircraft electrician for the Alabama Air National Guard. Following retirement, he worked for Lockheed Martin Aircraft. A member of Mulder United Methodist Church in Wetumpka, Joe also enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and time on the lake in his boat.
A visitation for Joe will be held Monday, August 2, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens officiated by Rev. Jonathan Hart. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Bill Nichols Veterans Home for their compassion and care of Mr. Brantley. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Mr. Brantley’s memory be made to Mulder United Methodist Church or Bill Nichols Veterans Home.
