He is survived by his loving children Sherri L. McAlindon and John G. Laing, four grandchildren that he was so proud of - John G. Laing, Julia R. McAlindon, James D. McAlindon, and Jacob D. Laing, brother and friend, Douglas Laing and sister-in-law Trina Laing, along with several loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. His canine companion, Cookie, stole his heart and never left his side.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and enjoyed membership as a Freemason. His love of cooking and infamous pots of spaghetti are only surpassed by his big, loving heart. We all look forward to those meals again one day, dad…we love you.

A Celebratory Service and Burial will be held at White Chapel-Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, Alabama on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.
