SMITH, John V., Jr. "Trapper John", passed away on Friday, August 26, 2011 at the age of 69. He worked as a registered architect in the Montgomery area for many years. An avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed spending time at his river cabin with family and friends. He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, camping, motorcycles, antique cars and white water sports. And he loved riding his Harley Davidson. He is survived by two daughters, Mary Lynn (David) Hubbard, Grady, AL; Laurie Ann Collins, Montgomery, AL; one sister, Carolyn Smith Wright, Panama, OK; three grandchildren, Perri Hubbard, Birmingham, AL; Mitchell Hubbard, Grady, AL; Cory Collins, Birmingham, AL. Honorary pallbearers will be Cory Collins, Mitchell Hubbard, Bill Berry and Gene Grider. A memorial service will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
