

John was a compassionate and thoroughly involved extended family man, New Orleans aficionado and an innovative businessman, having founded in 1991 United Plastic Recycling. Second only to his love for his wife, children and grandchildren was his love of the Crimson Tide (University of Alabama Football to be more specific). He adored having fun with his friends and family.
His father, Dr. John Curran Sullivan, Sr. and his mother, Terry Draughn Sullivan, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Emelyn Bear Sullivan; a son: Dr. John Curran Sullivan III and his wife, April; a daughter: Brooke Sullivan Bishop and her husband, Alan, all of Montgomery; two step-daughters: Glenn Poundstone Sylvest and her husband, Glenn, of Columbus, Georgia and Emelyn Taylor Poundstone of Montgomery; five grandchildren: Preston, Caroline and Ann Curran Sullivan, Kate Bishop and Bobby Sylvest; a brother: Paul Draughn Sullivan and his wife, Beth and two sisters: Jane Sullivan Farris and her husband, Charlie, and Carole Sullivan Fraiser.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday September 26, at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery by the Rev. Andrew Thayer. Please wear your Bama red and white.
Pallbearers will be John Bonham, West Freeman, Charlie Farris, Bobby Bear, Bowman Bear, George Thompson, Fred Simpler, Paul Sullivan, Eddie Hails, Chuck Stewart, Larry Hinson and Greg Borg.
