Joseph Henry Treadwell

Mr. Joseph Treadwell, 92, passed away October 1, 2020. Mr. Treadwell is the son of the late Mr. Thomas A. Treadwell and Mrs. Margaret Scruggs. Mr. Treadwell grew up in Monticello, Florida in April of 1928. He Graduated from Monticello High School in 1946 and from University of Florida in 1951 where he received a BS in Agriculture. After he graduated from college in in 1951 he moved to Montgomery, AL. Mr. Treadwell married Miss Alice Bateman in 1953. Husband and wife have called Montgomery home ever since. Mr. Treadwell owned Rebel Pest Control in Montgomery, AL. He was always very quick witted and loved fishing and playing tennis. The family would like to thank the devoted caregivers Mary Sims for her eight years of dedication to the Treadwell family and Valinda Young and other ladies for the loving care they provided Mr. Treadwell since the passing of his beloved wife.

He was preceded in death by his son David Treadwell; spouse of 76 years Alice Bateman Treadwell; parents, Thomas A. Treadwell and Mrs. Margaret Scruggs; and brother Tommy Treadwell.

Joe is survived by his sister-in-law Mae Treadwell and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Walt Young, Rick Young, Brent Bateman, Blaine Bateman, Seth Snider, Darrel Young, Brayden Bateman and Blake Bateman with Darren Baxley serving as an honorary pallbearer.

A graveside service is set for Monday, October 5 at 2:00 pm in Greenwood Cemetery with Derek Frost officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
