Joyce Luneal Russell

She was born to A.P. and Mattie Lou Bradley on September 1, 1935. She married the love of her life, Johnny Douglas Russell, on September 5, 1953. Luneal was a homemaker her entire life. She spent her time raising five children, preserving food from the garden, exploring new recipes, and caring for her elderly parents along with her elderly father-in-law. Luneal was a kind and sweet woman.

Luneal LOVED the Lord and she wanted others to know the Lord and serve him as well. She was a member of Panama Street Church of Christ and when she was able, she would visit the elderly, cook meals for those in need, and visit the sick. Luneal was a kind and sweet woman.

Luneal is preceded in death by her parents A.P. and Mattie Lou Bradley, her loving husband of 68 years, Doug Russell, a brother Billy Bradley, and a sister Eudine Garner.

Luneal is survived by her five children: Johnny (Betty) Russell, Glenn Russell, Lavonn (Leta) Russell, Gayle (Charlie) Stroud, and Scott Russell; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; her brothers, Kenneth (Janice) Bradley, and Tommy Joe (Sally) Bradley; and several nieces and nephews.

A friends and family visitation for Joyce will be held Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. Following the friends and family visitation will be a a celebration of life graveside service at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
