Judy Elizabeth Rittenour

Rittenour, Judy Elizabeth (Duncan), age 72, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at her home in Montgomery, Alabama, September 27, 2017. Judy is survived by her daughters Elizabeth H. Staten (Tony), Amy Leigh Ingram (Robbie), Carol Ann Matthews (Jay), and Irmy Fonville (Dennis); grandchildren Carrie Matthews (Ira Bacani), Anthony Staten, Amber Persons (John), Robert May, Frances Jones (Andrew), Katie Matthews, Rebecca May, Storm Ingram, Erica Palmore (Dominique), and Savannah Fonville; and great-grandchildren Trace Staten, Oden Matthews, Taylor Staten, Rosaleigh Jones, Liliana Persons, Kaleigh Palmore, and Channing Palmore; sister-in-law Becky Duncan; nephew Paul Duncan (Amy); nieces Kimberly Casey (Ryan), Erin Duncan; great-nieces Avery Casey, Bella Casey; and great nephews Christopher Duncan, Noah Duncan, and Everette Casey; and many other beloved extended family.

Judy was preceded in death by her father and mother Willie Carold and Mary Frances Duncan; husband Charlie Rittenour; and brother Billy Duncan. Judy worked for Alfa Insurance Company for 21 years as a District Supervisor. She was an integral part of the process to incorporate the Town of Pike Road and served on the first Town Council from 1997-2000. Judy was a charter member of Pike Road Lions Club and served as Mayor of the Town of Pike Road from 2000-2004. She was an active member of Vaughn Park Church of Christ.

Family and friends will celebrate Judy’s life at Leak Memory Chapel with a visitation held on Saturday, September 30 from 4-6 PM followed by a celebration of life service at 2 PM on Sunday, October 1. Pallbearers will be Tony Staten, Robbie Ingram, Jay Matthews, Dennis Fonville, Anthony Staten, Robert May, John Persons, Andrew Jones, Ira Bicani, and Ryan Casey.
