Katharine Evelyn Chittum

Katharine Evelyn Chittum, age 87 of Dadeville, AL, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017. On October 14, 1929, Mrs. Chittum was born in Sumter, SC, where she was raised and attended school. She, along with her husband, lived in Tennessee and Alabama, but her most favorite place to reside was her home on Lake Martin. Mrs. Chittum was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Warren J. Chittum; and her parents, Hughie and Nettie Geddings. Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen West, Connie MacDonald; son-in-law, Mike MacDonald; grandchildren, Matthew Lee MacDonald (Anne Frances), Clinton James MacDonald (Stephanie), Adam Tyler MacDonald (Shana); four great grandchildren, Lillie Elizabeth MacDonald, Caroline Ruth MacDonald, Warren Christopher MacDonald, Michael Vance MacDonald; her church family from Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church of Dadeville, AL; and numerous other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Leak Memory Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Allen officiating. The burial will be held at Greenwood Serenity Cemetery.
