Haynes, Katherine (Kitty) Kimbell, age 96, passed away January 19, 2013 in Birmingham, AL. Married to William (Bill) Haynes for 61 years, he preceded her in death, March 1997. The couple raised their five children in Montgomery, AL and retired in Dothan, AL. Kitty had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of Panama Street Church of Christ, Montgomery, for 30 years and Westgate Church of Christ in Dothan for nearly 30 years. She is survived by her children, Harriett (John David) Parker of Alex City, AL; Don Haynes of Debary, FL; John (Jackie) Haynes of Bradenton, FL; Carol (Tommy) Godwin of Birmingham, AL; Nancy (Billy) Patton of Birmingham, AL, 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one survivng sister, Jackie Kimbell Cook of Birmingham, AL. Funeral services are Wednesday, January 23 at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The service begins at 11:00 a.m. with John David Parker officiating. Kitty’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
