Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Bennett and Laura Mabel Sweet and his sister, Sharilyne Howard.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggy Ann Sweet; his son, Larry James Sweet, II (Cara); his daughter, Sherri Ann Sweet Bunting (Kevin); his grandsons, Matthew Sweet, Micah Sweet, Trey Bunting and Kobe Bunting; 5 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Kathy Spotts, Connie Corbin, and Laurie Sweet.
Larry loved God, Peggy, his best friend and bride, his family, the church, his hummers and animals along with his many friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larry’s memory to Children’s Hospital of Alabama.
A friends and family visitation for Larry will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109, followed by a graveside committal service at 12:00 PM.
