Leon Alfred Meredith, age 83 passed away unexpectly on Monday, September 2, 2013 at his home. He is survived by his loving wife, Elfie Pellech Meredith of 58 years ,whom he met while serving in the Unites States Army, on a tour of duty in Veinna ,Austria ; two children, Alvin ( Connie) Meredith and Anna Sessions (Mike) Cargile ; four grandchildren, Justin Sessions, Misty Sessions ,Taylor Meredith, Beth Meredith; one great-grandchild, Bryce Poitevint; also five brothers and two sisters. Over the last few years Mr. Meredith, known as the “Woodman” warmed the hearts and homes of many residents of East Montgomery.Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Forest Hills Cemetery at 3:00 pm. Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 1:30 until 2:30. Everyone will meet at the graveside after visitation.
