Lewis Frank Mathews died March 14, 2016. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home (11:00 am). Mr. Mathews was preceded in death by his mother and father: Mary Jo Durden & William Bryan Mathews. A graduate of Robert E. Lee high school, he was a great wrestler winning many trophies in Junior and Senior High School. He also served in the Navy during the ‘70s and coached little league football and baseball for both children as they grew up. Frank Mathews worked at South Eastern Freight Lines and was a passionate Alabama fan. He enjoyed time with his friends and family, especially around the pool table.
Mr. Mathews is survived by his sister, Lottie Neese; his children, Tanya Mathews and Bryan Mathews; grandsons, Blake Meadows, Kade Mathews, Jacob Mathews; his nieces and nephews, Miranda Conner, Michelle Otis, Glenn Neese and Michael Burkett. The friends and family are grateful of all the support. Condolences may be shared on this website.
