Louise Mary Patton, age 90, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Samuel Vinton Patton; and her daughter, Lisa Ann Patton. Mrs. Patton is survived by 5 children, Michael Stanley (Elisabeth) Villarreal, Debra Sue Wirth, Shari Lynn Patton, Samuel Vinton (Pauline) Patton, and George Stephen Patton; her grandchildren, Jennifer Villarreal (Kevin) Whichello, Andrea Villarreal, Melanie Villarreal, Jason Wirth, Samuel Justin Wirth, Vinton David Barton, Bronx Odel Barton, Lisa Louise Patton, Samuel Vinton Patton III, Gabriella Elizabeth Patton and Hannah Carole Patton; and 16 great grandchildren.
Born of Spanish and Navajo parents, Louise was orphaned at an early age and grew up in an orphanage during the depression. She married Samuel Vinton Patton Sr. in 1950 Lowery Air Force Base in Denver. Louise loved her family deeply, never learned to drive but walked or took the bus for all her shopping needs. Very hard working and frugal, she provided for and raised 6 children to share her work ethic and value system. Louise loved the mountains of Colorado and had fond memories of her childhood playing at the Mother Cabrini summer camp located in the foothills of Denver. Her playmates were fellow orphans of Sioux, Arapaho and Navaho descent. Her wishes are for her ashes to be scattered at Pike’s Peak, Colorado.
